Major Update #5 - TRIGGER SOULS 1/27/2021
I'M BACK
ADDED TRIGGER SYSTEM - THIS INTERNAL SYSTEM LETS ME ASSIGN ARBITRARY FUNCTIONS TO SPECIFIC PROJECTILE EVENTS LIKE "SPAWNING", "HITTING THE EDGE OF THE ROOM", "KILLING AN ENEMY", ETC. THIS LETS ME DO FUN SHIT WITH MORE RUNES.
ADDED CONDITIONAL OPERATORS FOR TRIGGERS - I WAS TAKING SO GOD DAMN LONG BECAUSE I WANTED SOME VARIABILITY TO MY VIDEO GAME. TRIGGERS CAN NOW OPERATE BASED ON VARIOUS CONDITIONALS, LIKE BEING TOO CLOSE OR TOO FAR OR HAVING YOUR HP ABOVE OR BELOW A CERTAIN THRESHOLD, ETC.
MOST OF MY WORK THIS UPDATE WAS EATEN UP BY MAKING THE TRIGGER SYSTEM, WHICH ESSENTIALLY COMPLETES MOST OF THE HARD WORK I HAVE TO DO FOR "MAKING NEW WEAPONS". THE NEXT MAJOR STEP IS TYING THEM FROM PLAYER BULLETS INTO BOTH PLAYER PROJECTILES AND ENEMY PROJECTILES, AND THEN AFTER THAT WE BEGIN WORKING ON BOSSES.
CHANGED RUNE MATH. THE MULTIPLICATIVE EFFECTS OF RUNES NOW STACK MULTIPLICATIVELY, WHICH IS GOOD. RUNES WITH MULTIPLICATIVE EFFECTS HAVE BEEN BALANCED ACCORDINGLY
COMPLETELY CHANGED COLLISION IN ORDER TO LET BULLETS MOVE AND COLLIDE MORE SMOOTHLY. DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT TOO MUCH.
REVERTED BASE ENEMY SOULS FROM 12 -> 10
MADE COMBO METER EFFECT SOULS GAINED. SOULS GAINED ARE MULTIPLIED BY (COMBO METER)%. YOUR COMBO METER ALSO GOES UP SLOWER DEPENDING ON HOW LARGER IT IS (3 / SQRT(COMBO), TO BE SPECIFIC). THERE WAS ALWAYS A COMBO METER, BEFORE THIS IT ONLY AFFECTED THE PITCH OF GUNFIRE LMAO
INSTEAD OF LOSING ALL COMBO ON HIT YOU LOSE 66% OF IT.
REBALANCED SOUL MATH AGAIN, STILL TRYING TO WORK OUT THE PERFECT CURVE BUT I THINK THIS ONE IS BETTER.
ADDED NEW RUNES:
HUNTER - GIVES YOUR BULLETS VERY SLIGHT HOMING
STALKER - GIVES YOUR BULLETS STRONG HOMING BUT REDUCES THEIR SPEED AND RANGE DRASTICALLY
BUCKSHOT - ADDS A CONE-SHAPED SPRAY OF SHORT-RANGED SHRAPNEL TO EACH SHOT, SLIGHTLY LOWERS RANGE
CORPSES - CAUSES YOUR BULLETS TO SPAWN SHORT-RANGED SHRAPNEL ON KILL, DECREASES PENETRATION
HARVESTER - KILLS GENERATE ADDITIONAL MANA WHEN BELOW 50% MANA
BURNOUT - EMPOWERS YOUR BULLETS WHEN ABOVE 50% MANA AT THE COST OF MANA.
POLYKILL - CUTS BULLET DAMAGE IN HALF BUT CONSECUTIVE KILLS DRASTICALLY INCREASE PENETRATION DAMAGE
WOBBLE - CAUSES YOUR BULLETS TO RANDOMLY WOBBLE BUT INCREASES DAMAGE
BLOOM - YOUR BULLETS GENERATE CIRCULAR-MOVING, LONG-LASTING SHRAPNEL SPORADICALLY
EMERGENCY - INCREASES DAMAGE, PENETRATION, AND BULLET SPEED WHILE BELOW 25% HEALTH
STANDSTILL - YOUR BULLETS DECELERATE TO A STOP BUT GAIN DAMAGE AND REMAIN DAMAGING FOR A LONG TIME
